Hansie Fourie moves on from Ingram Micro South Africa
14 July 2010

MB Technologies has announced that Hansie Fourie, who has been serving as the company’s managing director since 2008, will be leaving Ingram Micro South Africa.

In the three years since its inception Ingram Micro South Africa has staked its claim in the local IT components space, providing superior service and support to the local system builder channel. It has also secured distribution rights for prominent brands such as Acer, Asus, Kingston, Microsoft, and Seagate amongst others and in some cases is the number one ranked distributor.

Says Fourie “I joined Ingram Micro with a particular focus in mind; to acquire a few additional brand distributorships, to drive sales and customer acquisition and to build up the staff compliment to ensure the highest levels of service to Ingram Micro’s chosen market segments. I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of establishing Ingram Micro in South Africa and feel that I have achieved what MBT tasked me to do.”

“I am proud of what the team at Ingram Micro has achieved,” says Fourie. “The company has grown strongly over the last three years and has earned recognition from the channel for customer service and the international vendors for the growth achieved. Recently the company won the African Distributor of the Year award at the EMEA Channel Academy Awards 2010 in Monaco. So I am leaving the company in a healthy state with lots of potential.”

Says CEO of MB Technologies Glenn Fullerton, “Hansie has been a great asset to the business and has utilised his entrepreneurial skills to establish Ingram Micro in the South African market place. We’re happy with what he has achieved over the past two years. We’re also looking forward to the next phase in the life of the business and believe that the market holds potential in this area. Hansie will be with us until the end of September to ensure a smooth transition.”

“I am also pleased to announce that the Competition Commission has approved the acquisition by MB Technologies of all the Ingram Micro South Africa shares that we do not already own. We have a strong management team and will continue to grow the business,” concludes Fullerton.

A new managing director for Ingram Micro will be announced in due course. ENDS
